The Latin American Scholarship Foundation is a charity founded in Toronto. Our mission is to empower Latin America’s youth through education, by awarding scholarships to high performing grade 12 students. By doing so, we help alleviate some of the monetary needs for their post-secondary education.

Diego Preza is a Salvadoran immigrant who came to Toronto at the age of 7. In addition to maintaining academic excellence, Diego invests many hours in community work, some of the activities he carries out as a volunteer are teaching financial management to young people from his school, he also participates in camps for low-income children organized by Mission Scott. Diego was accepted to Ryerson University, but is also waiting to be accepted into York University’s Schulich program, one of the University’s most competitive programs. Diego’s goal is to get his Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce and then go to Law School to become a corporate lawyer. His dream is to have his own law firm which will provide legal services to people who need it but can’t afford it.
Grace Cordova
Grace Cordova of Peruvian origin, chose her career thanks to the experiences and learning during her community service. Grace, who is fluent in English, French and Spanish, is going to the University of Ottawa for the Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences. After obtaining this degree she plans to further her education by getting a Masters Degree and applying for Medical School. Her goal is to have a career in Health Care, such as doctor and more specifically a surgeon.
Jesus Bustamante
Jesus Bustamante Ecuadorian who has accumulated more than 400 hours of community service, has also managed to maintain academic excellence. Jesus spends much of his free time at Guadalupe church, giving catechism classes, he also works with children teaching them to play musical instruments, and with senior citizens teaching the management of computer programs. Jesus was accepted to Ryerson and York University where he will pursue a degree in business administration with a specialisation in marketing. He plans to continue on to a Master’s of Business Administration. His goal is to use his expertise into fueling an improved education system to the Hispanic communities in their countries from a political standpoint.
